If we regarded the journey of our nation, we never forget about the actor of the youths. They were one of the pillars of the process to reach this united nation. These youths with their perseverance’s fight for freedom and they allowed anything what they ought to get. With the flowed of their sweat and tears, moreover by the shedding of their blood, they would found something that called freedom.

This step was proceeded by a moment that called “Sumpah Pemuda”. From this moment they opened and battered the impasse for the right way. This was also showed that they had a sensitivity about any problems for this nation. They were the main organizer of the wholeness ideology. It was the beginning of the awareness of this nation for the basic change of the united nation.

In coming years, as we know, at that time emerged some movement of young man pioneered by university students. They coalesced in one place named KAMI (the unity of student action of Indonesian). They were the generation who become the tip of lance of the nation to improvement the system. Their aspirations could influenced the administration of this country.

They showed them selves as the brave youth and they also had a spirit of patriotism. The younger with their young idealism had a desire to reach the integral of this nation. Sure, that this idealism not just a thing without the base. They really started from the reality of their life. They were united, one sense, one opinion to reach that aim.

The unification of patriotism and intellectuality

The awareness of nationality bore fruit for the freedom. In compliance with this freedom, that struggles not just stopped at that time. Sure, that at this time we not require the weapon to defend our freedom. To pass and fill this freedom, he younger faces many problems in this country. They are in the situation that different with the situations at 1928. Today they not require holding the physical struggle. They were equipped for being the strong people. They are the pillars of the education of this nation who are hope will be contributor the dynamics of this country.

At this time there are so many institutes of education with the good quality that cleared in every region. We should be proud of this situation; we don’t be fall a sleep about this condition. We have to still keep on guard the challenges around of us, especially in this globalization era. We can’t ignore that the youth are in this era, and they also need to place their selves in the right way. Sure, that this era causes the transitional of their mentality. Probably, this is also give the transitional of their existence that is as the intellectual man. There is a danger that these new values can influences the youth to out the track.

All of that can be faced with the awareness that the youths are a backbone of this nation. They brought the aspirations of populace to the government for straighten the system that got the problems. This case was not different with the nationality action at 1928. Their act are still reflects the act of the high nationality awareness that had been bequeathed by their pioneer.

This situation showed that although this generation always new, the main value never lose together with the running of the time. The spirit of patriotism is still cling on each of the youth. They were willing to sacrifice their selves, like as the Semanggi affair. Elang and his friends were the witness who showed that the spirit of patriotism never loses. Because of their actions, they often got the bad mark, such as the provocateur, the troublemaker, because of their demonstrations action, and the other stereotypes that gives for them. If we look deeply, these stereotypes were not right fully. Sure, that they were eloquent in giving opinion, argument or persuasive words. But in this case they had the right aim. They represented the voices of the populace who were fear with the government authority. In this case their lessons are not just about the theory at the class, but also the real life around them.

Their spirit of patriotism showed that they have the sense of the nationality. On the other hand, this spirit balanced with the intellectuality. In this case the students also can be told as intellectual ambassador to nation. Beside of this, they hoped to make relationship with international world by their achievements. In globalization era, we need the taft human beings, because of that the students prepared them selves to face the challenge in this era. They are equip themselves with intellectuality attitude to face. With their intellectuality attitudes, all of them can render the good ideas for analyzing of the growth of this nation.

On going step

Finally, the presence of the youth in this nation gives a renewal for society dynamics, particularly as academicians, they also gives the contribution for education atmosphere. Their contribution to this nation had beed starting since the pre-liberty until now. They have given many contributions in every life for society. Clear, they have joining in development renewals and raising the human life for auspicious future. To go to the next step, students have to direct their orientations for human being, that is to pursue of having fallen behind left behind and to raise the identity of this nation. Because of that the next generations will not lose the principle. The role or contribution which have been given by them are big, because of that the society have to support them, without installing negative stereotype. They are the backbone of this nation who full with the idealism to face the better future.
